The backbone: G.S.A.’s fire safety agents

G.S.A.’s fire safety agents are chosen after a rigorous selection process among fire fighters already having a solid technical and practical training. Each agent must: attend a theoretical and practical training on fire safety and prevention, according to a program approved by the Ministry of Interior - Fire Department, Public Rescue and Civil Defence; get a physical fitness and aptitude certificate delivered by the Ministry of Interior - Fire Department - Area Occupational Medicine and Medical Education; succeed a technical and practical examination according to Ministerial Decree dated 02/04/1981.

 

Qualifications of G.S.A.’s staff

  • Technical certificate for fire safety agents working in H1, H2, H3 class helipads, delivered in accordance with Law n.930/80 according to the Decree of the Ministry of Interior dated 02/04/1981.
  • Technical certificate for fire safety agents working in airports until the VI category ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) under the Law n. 930/80 and according to the Decree of the Ministry of Interior dated 02/04/1981.
  • Qualification certificate for first rescuers working in type A, B and C facilities, according to the Decree of the Ministry of Health
  • ATEX training certificate for agents working in workplaces that produce explosive atmospheres, according to ATEX Directive 94/9/EC
  • Airport driving license, according to the Decree of the Ministry of Health n. 388 dated 15/07 2003, delivered by ENAC
  • Driver license to transport dangerous goods, according to ADR standards.
